Overview of Optics Products

Chem-Space has developed a wide variety of optical geometries to accomplish specific manipulations of ions generated at atmospheric pressure.  Our optical systems have been modeled with proprietary simulation tools and prototyped and tested for attributes of compression and transmission.  We have developed state-of-the-art micro-fabrication techniques that can translate virtually any functional geometry into a practical and affordable assembly.  Our optical components include:

Geometry Benefits
Funnel-Well Compression ratios of over 5000 from large volume AP sources into small sampling cross-section (<500 um).
Annular Front and back tuning elements on annular stack allow complete isolation of source region from focusing region.
Multiple Sources Our patented optics allow independence of source position relative to conductance opening.
Ion Profile

Precise optical geometries allow precise and patterned transmission of ions from a dispersive source to a matched patterned array of ion selective apertures.

Figure1- Simple experiment results to show ions at atmospheric pressure follow exactly the electric field.  Notice the compressed hex-pattern of blue dye collected on the foil is exactly the pattern of hex-metal through which an electrosprayed dye solution was focused.
