AP-MALDI Sources and
Components
Since being founded in 1995, Chem-Space Associates has a major
objective to development enabling technologies the are intended to
facilitate the growth of LC/MS. We have concentrated our research
and development in areas that will increase the efficiency and sensitivity
of LC/MS systems. We also recognized that a small business does not
have the engineering resources or the product distribution capabilities to
compete at the system level in LC/MS. Our choice has been to focus
and special on areas of technology development that provide high value to
the market. Our efforts have primarily been directed at atmospheric
pressure optics (where significant inefficiencies are observed) and source
development where we feel there is a need for more sensitivity, higher
specificity, and increased dynamic range.

directly onto the front of the instrument and ions are sampled through
annular optics into an optical well located "behind" the sample
target surface.
